Introducing the Undercover Homeopath

The Undercover Homeopath:

I am a homeopath. I am female, and for now it is all that I want you to know about me.
I’ve decided to start this blog as an undercover. Not even my family or close friends know that I am doing this.
You might ask what do I have to hide. Nothing, except my identity. The reason for this is not so much to protect myself and my career as an homeopath from the public in general, nor to shield me from those who are against homeopathy. I understand the power of marketing, that any publicity is good publicity and that by not making myself public I’m declining the chance of gaining more patients.

I am going undercover...

and I hope that no matter on what side you are on, you will respect this by not trying to associate my persona with any particular individual, and remember if someone tells you they are the Undercover Homeopath that’s because they aren’t. I could have told you that my name was Ann O’Finigan married to Mike and leaving on a caravan in Swaziland and most of you would have taken my word for it, so please respect my desire for anonymity. Being undercover I’m less likely to be asked by any homeopathic group to express their particular views. Also, just in case I say something that conflicts with the views of any of my colleagues, and I'm sure I will at some point, they'll not ask me to stop if they don’t know who I am.

So let's make it clear that even when I use the word we, I am only expressing my own views, which at times may not necessarily be those of my colleagues.

I’ll try to write once a week to bring you a quick analysis of the current affairs from a homeopathic point of view.

Again, the choice of topics and the interpretation of those are my own, and in no way is intended to be constructed as the unanimous view of the homeopathic community.

If I recommend a remedy to someone because of what they have said or done during the week, this is only a quick snap of someone’s homeopathic profile, by no means the full picture of who they really are. Their full homeopathic profile would involve an in depth analysis, at least a couple of hours of consultation with the person to assess them at various levels such as physical, emotional, psychological, detailed medical history, and so on.

Also, since confidentiality of my patient’s details is paramount you can be quite assured that if I mention a celebrity in one of these homeopathic snapshots is because they are not my patients and therefore I’m drawing my conclusions from information that is in the public domain.

Links to other websites are at my own discretion. It does not mean that the individuals or groups on those links share or support my views, only that I’ve decided to make them accessible to you because they might provide further information on the topics discussed in the blog.

At this stage I have decided not to have a message board, but feel free to express your opinion by tweeting me @urban_healing or in any other way you choose to. If you think it is worth saying it, you are not restricted to saying it within the confinements of this site.  I encourage you to spread the word whether pro or against me, and I’ll not have the temptation of removing your message if you are being derogatory or if we don’t share the same views.

I’ll try to do a weekly web search to see if there any comments that need responding, so if you are after an answer from me, keep posting your views in as many community message boards as you can and eventually I’ll find you.

Supporting the Cause... I' m considering including not one but two Donate buttons!

One button for contributions from those of you who want to support what I’m doing so that I can continue to bring information about homeopathy to the general public in a fun way, without having to worry about the time I am taking away from my practice, and how am I going to pay the bills. I think it is a good cause.

The second Donate button is for those of you who would like to prevent me from seeing patients for homeopathic treatment and think that while I’m busy rambling on this site there will be less chance of me treating anyone. I hope I don’t get too many donations through this button, but I let you decide.

I thought about including a third Donation button for those of you who don’t care, but then I figured that if you are going to be like that, you might as well donate on both sides, to even things out…
